Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release

  • Helps decrease chronic muscle tension, spasm and pain by releasing muscle tightness and restoring normal movement.

Clinical Example

  • The muscular tissue (myo) is integrated with the connective tissue membrane (fascia) to form an integrated unit of movement.
  • The role of the fascia is to provide static postural support, maintain alignment and protect the inner organs.
  • The muscles and fascia can tighten reducing mobility.
  • An analyst suffers from chronic pain in the neck and shoulder muscles from working on the computer all day.

Treatment

  • Muscle release will lengthen the neck muscles and promote better alignment to ease the pain long-term.
  • Strengthening larger muscle groups will decrease load on the smaller neck muscles.
